hmmmm. Do you have something to cut them with? Start cutting! It is hard sometimes when you have glass because you save it for the perfect project. Truth is, you can buy more so start cutting it up!
I have some glass that I absolutely love!!!!!! It is even scrap from another project I did, but it is beautiful and it;s larger scrap, but I don't want to but it up for a small mosaic. So I am still saving that glass for a large mosaic so the pattern and colors of the glass show well.
A lot of glass stores sell their scrap by the pound. I go in and handpick the pieces or colors I like/need. Usually is between 3 and 5 bucks a lb. Then it is easier to commit to using scrap instead of cutting into your big squares that cost more.
i like this one better than the last!
ReplyDeletehow did you protect that fortune from getting ugly?
It is under glass and I used a glob of clear silicone caulk to secure the glass to it.
ReplyDeleteohhh. fancy!
ReplyDeletedo you use silicone chaulk to hold down most stuff before grouting?
Yes. I like that it holds pretty quickly so the pieces don't slide all over the place. Also, it helps make it waterproof, and is economical too.
ReplyDeleteIt does dry rather quickly. I am out of caulk and had too use elmers glue last night. Slippy slidey stuff that Elmer's.
interesting.
ReplyDeletei actually have like 5 squares of glass that i wanted to do something with and never figured out what that would be lol
